Optellum welcomes ESTI back to Oxford for 2022 congress

In June 2022, the European Society of Thoracic Imaging (ESTI) held its first in-person annual scientific meeting since the pandemic. Optellum were fortunate to have the meeting on our doorstep, as it was hosted at the University of Oxford, giving many of our staff the opportunity to attend presentations ranging from advanced pulmonary procedures and lung cancer genomics to radiomics and deep learning.

As well as expanding existing knowledge bases, ESTI presented the opportunity for Optellum to meet with valued clinical collaborators including Professor Fergus Gleeson and Professor David Baldwin both of whom have a long-standing relationship with Optellum.

Professor Gleeson is the ESTI 2022 Congress President, in addition to his roles as Consultant Radiologist and Professor of Radiology in Oxford, and a well-established Optellum collaborator on a number of grant-funded projects; most recently a co-authored paper in European Radiology on the efficacy of the Optellum software. Professor Baldwin is Honorary Professor of Medicine at the University of Nottingham, and Consultant Physician at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. As well as being the co-author of the current clinical guidelines for lung cancer, Professor Baldwin is the lead investigator for the NHS AI lab-funded multi-hospital clinical trial Determining the Impact of Optellum’s Lung Cancer Prediction Solution (DOLCE).

Optellum are looking forward to continuing our involvement with the researchers and physicians advancing the forefront of thoracic care in the Oxfordshire science valley and the international clinical community, working together to ensure the success of innovations in patient care.
