Optellum science features in posters at the American Thoracic Society annual meeting

The Optellum team attended the American Thoracic Society (ATS) international conference in San Francisco, meeting existing partners and friends and making new connections with innovative health care networks.

Another poster Utilizing a Deep Learning Radiomic Model for the Quantification of Emphysema from MG Lester, gave an early insight into Optellum’s roadmap as a lung health company together with partners from VUMC  into the potential of machine learning for diagnosis of emphysema.

Clinical presentations of the value of Lung Cancer Prediction included a poster on Risk Stratification of Pulmonary Nodules from Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). This is a continuation of the work of the late Professor Pierre Massion; Cornelius Vanderbilt Chair and Professor of Medicine, whose paper in the ATS American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine about the potential of the Optellum algorithm was the 4th most cited in 2019-20.

In between attending clinical presentations and meetings at our booth, the Optellum team took time to explore San Francisco and meet with some of our US partners in the city. Another team of Optellum company members flew to Boston for the American Association of Thoracic Surgery (AATS) conference which took place on the same weekend, while our Product Manager went on to visit some of the hospitals where the Optellum solution has been recently deployed.

Dr Vaclav Potesil, Chief Business Officer of Optellum, and Dr Christine Berg, co-principal investigator of the NLST, at the Optellum booth.
